Pakistan Mediators Association is Pakistan’s first organization representing foreign trained and accredited mediators as well as other professionals who have joined the Association to further the cause of the Association. The Association was formed in 2013 and has taken over number of activities which were earlier implemented by IFC/World Bank Group’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Pakistan Project Phase 1&2. While Karachi Centre for Dispute Resolution (KCDR) and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s mediation centre is functional and providing mediation services, it was deemed essential to promote development of ADR and mediation in other parts of Pakistan. In this regard, representation in Association has been provided to Pakistani professionals belonging to all provinces while it is acknowledged that it will take time to provide capacity building opportunities to professionals based in KPK and Baluchistan provinces.
